Desktop fusion

Hello all !

I'm studying the possibility to fusion a application within the destkop.
May be some of you known Replicant technologie (something like OpenDoc)
under BeOS. It gave the
possibility to drag&drop an application to the desktop. The best image
to explain my idea is to see
the application as a wallpaper.
Do you know if it's possible under OS X ? And how ?
