After working with PB for some time I have about two dozen application
in my dock (which is ok), and also one or two dozen class descriptions
(like NSCoder.html) and a dozen of my own classes in some editor.
To switch between files I use the Window menu of PB or my editor, as the
dock is quite useless for this.
But when there are too may things in the dock, each time I miniaturize
or deminiaturize a file, I get lots of messages like:
DOCK: CFMessagePortSendRequest returned -1
DOCK: CFMessagePortSendRequest returned -2
and it also gets extremely slow (several seconds to miniaturize or
deminiaturize a file).
I do not want to start a discussion about the dock (maybe there are very
good reasons for the dock being like this) (although I like the good
old NextStep way much better, where the miniaturized files had a fixed
size with name, and a stable location on the screeb, so that one could
arrange them in some logical way and very quickly find and open a
file) - but is there a better way to work with many open files?
Is there a switch to not put miniaturized files into the dock?
I rather prefer to have each file in a separate window, not inside the
PB.
Gerriet.
