Screen grab from a screensaver

Hi, I have to repost my question since I haven't received any answer...

I want to build a screensaver. My saver have o use the *current* screen content to build an image and play with it (think to a sort of spotlight).

No one has by now done that on MacOSX. It's time to do it.

Now, my only problem is: ** how can I grab the screen ? **
I know how to make my saver window transparent, but I'm unable to record the *visible* stuff.

Can anyone help me ?

It souldn't be a difficult task, "Grab" and "DigitalColor Meter" do it...

Please, help me, do it as a Xmast gift...

Best regards to anyone, merry Xmast and happy new year, Tommaso *<;-{}}
