I think I can guess the answer, but am I correct in the observation that
there is no mechanism for implementing the equivalent of
outlineView:itemForPersistentObject: for outline and table view data
sources in Java?
If I can't use this mechanism to save/restore the expanded state of
outline items, has anyone come up with a workaround? I found a similar
question in the archives, but no answer that applies here.
