We don't read in Java files yet. It's a known thing. As for the IB blows away my files problem, the next IB will also open File Merge for you, so you wont find yourself in an all or nothing situation. Eventually, the goal is to work with PB's indexer so we can insert outlets/actions exactly where we want them.

None of these seems to work when doing Java from PB & IB (no .h file!).
The only option, it seems, from IB is to overwrite the .java src file. If I
want to add another outlet or action later on. I have to save all my own
stuff from the .java file somewhere else then overwrite the .java from IB's
instantiated class, then put my code back in.

Dragging a .java file into IB seems to do nothing.

Okay, I want to make changes in Interface Builder (IB) without losing
all my code. Is there a CLEAN way of doing it other than saving
everything in a "secret directory"? This is what I was doing before,
but it seems so...hack. Since UI's do change over time, what is the
"normal" way of doing this?

The best way I found until today is to add instance variables
("Outlets") and action methods to the header file of an already existing
class first, then go to IB and re-read these class files. Your new
outlets and actions will appear there.

Of course it would be a nice feature of IB not to overwrite already
existing methods, but for these discussions there's an IB-specific list.

Cheers,
Markus
