Actually, I prefer the old property list format, myself. It's far more elegant, IMHO.

YES! When I look at XML, frequently tags seem to consume more bytes than data. It's so wordy compared with the old plist format that reading the important stuff (the data) is sometimes quite difficult. But I suppose XML wasn't designed to be easily human-readable. XML is, of course, much more versatile since data structures other than strings, arrays, dictionaries, and binary data can be expressed.
