Nick,

Why do you need to have the disabled look ?
The grayed out state is to represent that the app is not inactive.
Whereas a disabled look is to represent a control that does not respond to user's input.
Since NSProgressBar does not respond to user's input directly, it doesn't make sense to have it disabled.
