i'm far from being in my third year at university - i'm 14 and still in
school. if you don't know how to define a function in C then there is
something seriously wrong, and you really do need to figure out WTF went
wrong before progressing on from there.

It is the most basic C concept of all. Any good book about C or UNIX
must talk about this.
