Preffered TIFF Format

Hi,

I wondered what settings I should use when creating TIFF files for use
as static images in Cocoa. I want to make them as small as possible but if
I use GraphicConverter to minimise the color table then they fail to
display.

So does anyone know which bit depths are supported, compression schems
etc?
