A couple months ago on this list there was a lot of talk about a central
version tracking system for Mac OS X applications. I've started an open
source project on Sourceforge for this. Any volunteers are welcome,
although knowledge of C and/or Objective-C is basically a must. Here's
a brief description of VTAUS:
VTAUS(Pronounced V-Toss) Stands for "The Version Tracking and Updating
System". It is a server initially for Mac OS X/Darwin. VTAUS will
receive commands from client applications asking for the latest version
and update location of a software package.
