Regarding my earlier post, I solved the problem.

I did an ADC search for "FSOpenIterator failed" and found this Web page describing all the errors. <http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Carbon/Files/FileManager/File_Manager/

Reading it, it made sense to me.

Sorry to all of you who have time and time again called for people to hit the manuals, search the archives, and do a ADC search. Truthfully, I couldn't find anything in the manuals or archives, and only just now thought to do a search on ADC. I guess I'm going to have to try this three-pronged attack before posting next time.
