AppKit from CLI

Hi.

Has anyone succeded in using parts of the AppKit from the command line? I
need to create a command line program that uses NSImage to create a graphic
on the fly, but since there is no connection to the window server that is
not possible...How can I make this work? Is there any way at all to make it
work when no user is logged in?
