Sorry if this question doesn't make any sense--I'm still trying to put
together all the pieces behind Cocoa and WebObjects. I take it that WO
started as an ObjC thing and now has moved entirely to the Java realm.
I'm trying to understand more about the available (SQL) Database access
technologies available for Mac users--protocols, and APIs, not products.
I'm working on porting the unixODBC database manager to OS X, maybe
turning it into a proper Framework, and writing a System Preferences
Panel for management of data sources and ODBC drivers. I've also just
got a really nice C++ wrapper ported that makes ODBC access almost
identical to JDBC in behavior.
Anyway, I had been interested in knowing if there was a similar database
access scheme for Objective-C. After web searching around a GNUStep
project I came to understand that the EO- classes represented the
current (former?) Way to Access Databases for Objective-C / Cocoa.
If it's true that this API is now exclusively Java in the WebObjects
product, does that mean it simply is not available for Objective-C
programming? In other words, does the Objective-C programmer need to
either access JDBC or WebObjects/EOWhatever via the Java bridge or write
in raw ODBC?
Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Not _that_ bad -- still there are WO4.5.1.
Without any bright future though, I do bitterly agree :((((((((((((((((
