Do release it freely (rather, unless you really need to do that, don't
retain the result of bundleWithPath).

I've got none at hand just now, but it just works as documented -- no
problems at all (at least not in Mac OS X Server 1 -- I haven't tested
personally whether it's broken in OSX or not. I guess not, since many apps
use the technique).
