I would like to write a Mac OS X application that will take over the whole screen and display things like:

-- QuickTime media (pictures and movies)
-- "ticker-tape"
-- running clock

Are there any applications or source code for something similar out there, whether Cocoa Java or ObjC?

Even source code to get started for taking over the screen and displaying basic information would be of great help.

Thanks for any pointers,

Regards,
Alex
