New Feature?

Designed a little test interface in Interface Builder with related code and launched after compiling, but without doing any "wiring" in IB. Interface has two text fields in a box. So why does the tab key jump the cursor from one field to the other even though I have not control-dragged a connection. Is this a new feature I missed reading about?
