how can they have an icon in the dock ?????

I am too interested in the way to create faceless applications. I have tried to create a project without any menu nor window, but I still get at least an empty menu bar.
It seems tricky to me even to have the concept of a window- and menu-less application that would work in a way that's not too ungraspable by the user. That makes a nice small app by the way... ;-)
I'd love to continue this discussion off list while we work on a dock extras replacement.
