In NSWorkspace.h

APPKIT_EXTERN NSString *NSWorkspaceDidLaunchApplicationNotification; // @
"NSApplicationName"
APPKIT_EXTERN NSString *NSWorkspaceDidTerminateApplicationNotification; // @
"NSApplicationName"

Well, that's the workspace telling us that the app launched, but if the app did it too we'd know that the launch was successful.
