I just went back into 9 to experiment. If the movie didn't have a preview
there was a "Create Preview" button in the open panel. What was more
surprising, if you create a preview in 9 you can see it in X from both the
Carbon and the Cocoa open panels. But the create preview button is missing
in X from either open panel.
