Sorry Ondra, but I happen to agree with Paul here. It's not just a
"Cocoa-chauvinism", it's your general attitude. I feel that I have
tolerated it long enough now and have to try to say something. You must
understand that people on this list come from many different programming
backgrounds. Of course this is a Cocoa list, but Cocoa is probably not
the only thing that everybody on here does. Your attitude in the past
few months has been very negative about Carbon, Classic, Apple in
general, C++, and Java. You must be a little more open minded. I don't
care that you have "your way" of doing things - and you obviously have
some knowledge of Cocoa that some of us have learned from, but your
approach has got to change. This is a public list and we all need to
play nicely. I feel a little guilty sending this response to the list
instead of just to you, but I feel that I am not the only person who is
a little tired of your "holier than thou" attitude. I am not sure if
you are familiar with the show "Survivor" but if you are, then you
should realize that you would be the first person voted off this
island. Not for your lack of intelligence, but for your lack of people
skills.
Your ideal goal of making us all program only in Objective-C (and in
general to make OSX more like the old NeXT stuff) is not realistic.
It is not my intention to chase you away, and it is not my intention to
hurt your feelings, I am just trying to maybe make this list a little
less confrontational (which yes seems ironic since this letter is
confrontational).
Just my 2 cents

It's not "Cocoa-chauvinism", it's "functional and consistent UI
chauvinism".
The reason I hate Carbon is that it messes up so many things; not that
"it
is not Cocoa".
So as we have a good OSX, we should all be "functional and consistent UI
chauvinists". Otherwise we just can go and use windoze.

Or perhaps it might lead those developers to use a decent API instead,
which
would then finish immediately such problems as the one which started
this
thread!!!
