OSX Tools on Disk Image Segments

Hi all.
I have just taken the plunge into Cocoa development, and found no water in the pool.
I bought 10.0 (with tools CD) last March, did not install it.
I bought 10.1 upgrade (without Tools CD) in Sept.
I downloaded (via a 9.1 browser) the 10.1 tools from ADC in segments this week. (18 * 10 MB + 7.1 MB)
This week I upgraded to 9.2.1, installed 10.0, then upgraded to 10.1.
All is well, except: How do I install the tools?
If I drag a segment onto DiskCopy, it complains thusly:

"You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OS X can read. To use the unreadable volumes, click Initialize. To continue with the disk inserted click Continue"

Clicking Continue claims that "OS_X_10.1_DevTools_10_1.gmg.1 mounted successfully", but there is no image on the desktop.
Clicking Initialize brings up Disk Utility, with an opportunity to format the image (No, thanks).

Disk Copy under 9.2.1 claims that the images are corrupt. (I doubt it, since there are 18 of them, exactly the same size).

I dread the thought of a 187 MByte download in one chunk.

Is there something I'm not understanding? How do I merge these into a single image, or is that what I'm supposed to do?
