Thanks for the response. I'm not sure what was going on, but the problem doesn't seem to be there now that I've upgraded to 10.1. When I went in test mode, it did say SubMenu. I tried changing it in both the inspector and the menu editor with the same results. Bizarrely, I duplicated the Search submenu and deleted the original one and the duplicate used the correct title.

I'm guessing it was just some stange-hard-to-produce bug, and haven't been able to replicate.
