I've had positive experiences with TAO, but I haven't got it running under Mac OS X yet. For a while they had a summer student working on a port, but (if I recall correctly) they only got it building under public beta and even then not all services would build.

Mac OS X's come a long way since PB, but I don't think anyone has updated the port. If anyone has the time, I'm very interested in the results! I'm afraid I've only been programming for a few years as a student and haven't had much luck patching it myself.

Cheers,
Tony

Hmm, I'm surprised I haven't heard the suggestion yet, but one could always write C++ wrappers for Objective-C classes & thusly act as a bridge for the functionality. A better solution would be if we could just get an Objective-C mapping going...

Also, one very good ORB available (I donno about OS X) is TAO
