Dear Mac OS X Developer,
Due to popular demand, we're excited to announce several upcoming hands-on
ICON DESIGN workshops, also known as ICON DESIGN kitchens, to assist you in
developing an awesome Aqua-compliant user interface for your Mac OS X
product. There's no charge to attend these events.
ICON DESIGN KITCHENS
Icon Design kitchens are one day events, targeted at the visual designers of
your Mac OS X icons and graphics who want to learn first hand the tools,
techniques, and principles of effective Mac OS X icon design from members of
Apple's Human Interface Design team. You'll learn about all aspects of Mac
OS X icon design including conceptualisation, realisation, and production.
Attend this kitchen to learn tips and tricks in Photoshop, how to properly
model real world materials and create shadows, and what and what not to do
as we do an in-class peer review. Feedback from previous attendees has been
very positive for this event.
LOCATION, DATES, AND TIMES
Apple Computer Campus
Building 1
1 Infinite Loop,
Cupertino, CA 95014
Icon Design kitchens:
Tuesday, Nov 13, 2001. 10am - 5pm
Tuesday, Nov 27, 2001. 10am - 5pm
Tuesday, Dec 11, 2001. 10am - 5pm
COMPLIMENTARY SCHEDULES
ICON DESIGN workshops have been scheduled to precede USER EXPERIENCE/HUMAN
INTERFACE DESIGN workshops (see separate invitation) in order to complement
one another despite having different audiences and focus. We encourage you
to have your Product Marketing, visual designers, Human Interface designers,
and software engineers attend these events at different times to best take
advantage of the information we'll present. For example, your visual
designers could attend the ICON DESIGN kitchen, everyone could attend your
HI review session, and your software engineers could stay the remaining time
to make enhancements to your product.
REGISTRATION
The number of attendees we can host is limited, so reserve your space as
soon as possible using the web-based RSVP form located at:
