Dock menus for minimized windows.

Does anyone know of a way to link menu to a minimized window? The menu would display a synopsis of the window's contents. For long processes, I would like to be able to minimize the task viewer, then check its menu to view progress, something like:

_____________________
Rebuilding Database
42% Complete
10s remaining.
_____________________
Building Tree for "Name"
67% Complete
14s remaining.

Etc.

The window itself has a table listing the various processes, and the above sort of information. It's just that I personally don't like to open windows just to check on processes, then minimize them again. It's a pet peeve. I probably wouldn't need to take input, but being able to accept commands from the menu would be nice.
