No, you cannot. HFS+ is a case-insensitive filesystem. I'm sure of it.
If you decompress many source code packages with OpenUp, you'll find
those
conflicts preserved, and so long as the Finder only has to change their
path
(when moving their folder) you can move them around on your HFS+ disk.
You
can then access those files in Terminal, of course, compile the package,
etc.
