It has been ported, as far as I can see, on www.musickit.org. I just
installed it, but I haven't tried it. There were however both source and
binary OS X Client versions.

The MisicKit still exists and is maintained by CCRMA at Stanford
University.
It works with Openstep on Intel. It would probably be hard to port to
Apple's non-existent/undocumented sound APIs.

Try searching Internet for Music Kit. The beast was unbundled from
NeXTStep
ages ago, and IIRC some university maintained it since. I lost track
whether
it exists still or not.
Since the original thing used the DSP (which was a standard part of
NeXT
machines), I am afraid it might not be that easy to port it :(
