I have the exact same problem for the exact same type of application (whooohoo, competition :-) ). With your favorite browser open the documentation file for 'NSParagraphStyle' (NSParagraphStyle.html) and look at the constants table for tab stops.

What do you read for 'NSRightTabStopType' ? "Description forthcoming. Not yet supported."...

I guess your conclusion is the same than mine...
