disabling submenus

  • Subject: disabling submenus

Hi all :)

I have worked out how to use the validateMenuItem method to turn on and off NSMenuItem objects but this does not work with the 'Open Recent' or, I assume, any submenu. Is there a way to turn off an entire submenu and will this work with 'Open Recent'. If not, i have noticed that many programs simply disable every item in the submenu. Is there a call to disable all submenu items or another way to disable all the 'Open Recent' items without knowing what they are (what their title is etc.).

Robert
