Yeah -- to comply with system-wide UI standards, even if you (like me!!!)
don't like them.
If you are reasonably sure that a number of users would prefer a
non-lickable ;)
Disabling the animation doesn't cause it to look different from
other Aqua widgets. It just doesn't pulse, so it looks more
like a scrollbar. But sometimes a scrollbar isn't appropriate or
ideal.
indicators (and other widgets), try a feature-request with
Apple to allow them as system-wide option.
I think it's silly to expect developers to not create new
widgets when they're needed.
