I've seen in a program a determinate progress indicator

Does anyone know how to 'deactivate' the animation?

Setting the animation speed to an extremly slow value (like one step a year)? Like:

[animator setAnimationDelay:[animator animationDelay] * 1000000];

(Didn't check when the var overflows)
