Dear Dev-list,
I've been working through the Cocoa documentation and the Learning Cocoa book.
So far I have the following two questions:
-- is there a bug in the Dot View code that the slider and color well do not respond to user input?
-- how can one create a custom NSTable that generates itself from custom data that is not known beforehand?
Either changing colors or dragging the slider in the Dot View example from the Learning Cocoa book does not change the color or radius of the dot that is drawn. I went through coding the example and creating the nib Window and connections three times before giving up. Is there something I could do wrong that would cause this?
I went through the NSTable example in chapter 9. If you don't know the structure of the table beforehand, how can you create a valid nib file based on custom data, i.e. how do you handle an unknown number of columns, attributes, autosizing, etc.? Is there anything similar to how Java abstracts its table view and data models? The documentation is not clear on how this would be accomplished.
Thanks for any pointers,
Regards,
Alex
