This is probably the one and only time I have to agree with Ondra. It
no longer makes sense to have Close in the File menu now that Quit
has been moved. If you wanted to make everyone happy and have an ugly
workaround, put a close command in the file and the window menu.

I am sorry, but I have to disagree. That was right on OS9, where (almost)
any window represented a document (incidentally, there's another problem --
"document" is not the same as "file", but let's skip that one for awhile).
With OS X it is no more true: whenever OS9 had a dialogue, OS X has a
window. Therefore, the "Close Window" command _CONSIDERABLY_ differs from a
"Close Document" one, and _DEFINITELY_ belongs to "Window" menu.
Let me put it this way: using "Close Window" (from "window" menu), you are
closing the key window. _THAT'S_ the action you perform. It can, but need not
to, close some document too.
Using "Close Document" (from "File" menu) you are closing the main document.
_THAT'S_ the action you perform. It would generally close some window(s)
too.
