Why not to OpenSource it to make better ?
An OpenSource IB remaining under control of Apple for the decisions
about what to incorporate and how could be the best way for the future.
I was thinking about such an option the other day too. But I think it
has to be done thoughtful, not just starting to yell at Apple. Apple can
gain much more by opensourcing it than keeping it closed, but we have to
make it tasty for Apple: Collect arguments for opensourcing, explain the
pros and cons bussinesswise, formulate it nicely in a language Apples
management understands.
I think it is important not to fire to quickly, because this way we
possibly miss the target and cause the opposite effect.
If somebody is really interested in this topic please mail me privately,
I already collected some arguments (in a very draft state).
