Stepwise is pleased to announce the WWDC 2002 "Reusable Component Showcase".

A goal of object-oriented programming is allow developers to create reusable components. The "Stepwise" Birds of a Feather Meeting (BOF) will showcase the best reusable components from the Apple developer community.

We are inviting submissions from developers in two categories: Cocoa and WebObjects. The best will be presented at the BOF, and earn their authors the acclaim of the community (and perhaps a little more).

Components should be conceptually "single units", capable of reuse, as might appear on a palette (though there is no requirement for them to be palettized). A circular slider widget for Cocoa or a WebObjects to-many relationship inspector would qualify, for example, an image-editing application or content mangement system would not.

Submissions must be your own work and available for reuse to the community. There must no fees associated with use of the component. It is not required to be "Open Source", and there is no need to supply source code.

Submissions must install and run on Mac OS X 10.1.3 (for Cocoa components), or WebObjects 5.1.1 (for WebObjects components).

Entries must be submitted, with appropriate documentation -- and preferably with "demonstration harness" (a small application to illustrate their use) -- by April 30th 2002, to email@hidden.

Disclaimer: The judges' decision is final, and no correspondance will be entered into. Stepwise editors can't participate.
