Distributed Objects: IP #'s vs. hostnames

  • Subject: Distributed Objects: IP #'s vs. hostnames

Hi,

When I'm specifying a host in NSConnection's connectionWithRegisteredName:host method, can I specify the host by IP #? The NSConnection documentation example gives an actual host name, but our lab computers just have IP #'s. In the same vein, could I search an entire local network, with, say, a host of @"*"?

Thanks,

Michael
