Then why did they program a separate address book, instead of integrating it into Mail.app?

I think Apple should add a warning to status bar to the effect of not open the attachment if it is someone who was not going to send it to him.

There's even a warning when you try to open an (uncompressed) executable attachment in Mail.app, so Apple did take care about that problem.
