How can you get an app to launch without showing its Icon?!

Okay first and foremost, I understand that NSWorkspace has a method that
does it, but it doesn't work. What I really want is to be able to
launch my App without its Icon popping into the dock. Is this at all
possible? God bless the soul who can help me.
