Oracle and JDBC

  • Subject: Oracle and JDBC

We have an Oracle database running on a windows 2000 machine at work. I plan to make a Coca client to it, programmed in Objective-C.

What I have found out is that it is probably best to do the interface part using JDBC over the Java bridge.

Do I need to install a JDBC driver for Oracle, or is that already a part of OS X Java implementation?

Do I need to configure the Oracle server running on the windows 2000 machine to accept my SQL commands over the JDBC interface?

Ivan
