If you are comfortable with C++, check out Valentina <http://www.paradigmasoft.com> - there is a PB ready version of the VSDK...it requires that carbon.framework is imported BEFORE vsdk.framework (I found out eventually ;-)

I am interested to know what other options exist now that EOF has been nixed (no * in that one)...

You can also still buy the 4.5.1 version of WO from Apple (you have to phone them direct) although they may (will) kill that at some point...
