Hello all. Sorry if this gets long...
Well, we keep seeing the same old questions come up here time and time
again. What we need is a FAQ that takes all these "newbie" questions
into account but also would be useful for the older (ahem, sorry, more
experienced) programmers. While I would love to volunteer for the task
of keeping up with such a FAQ, I'm afraid that I would get swamped by it.
Instead, I've set up a couple of folders on the FAQTs system for Cocoa
and Carbon, respectively. Anybody can post questions and answers to the
forum. Hopefully, if we can start populating this area with good quality
answers then this list can become a little more sane in regards to the
quality of interaction.
So, how about it? I do need some help in populating the forums at the
beginning with good questions and answers to the basic building blocks
of Cocoa and Carbon programming. You know, all those questions you're so
tired of answering on this list. :)
Hopefully this link works:

You CAN post a question with the answer at the same time, if you know of
a common question and already have the answer. In fact, that's what some
of us need to do to get this started in the right direction.
Let's see if we can't make a decent information source out of this and
cut down on the redundant bandwith.
If you're not interested, fine by me...it didn't cost me anything more
than the time to write this post and set up the groups. But, they're
there for you if you want them.
