then still what you want to save is not the tab markers but the paragraph style that they represent. [...] You can save a paragraph style to defaults most easily by archiving it.

Well, I'm fine with archiving, if only I knew how get the paragraph style in the first place. Sorry to be a pest about this, but I've been through every attributed string, text, layout and view document I can think of, and nowhere can I find a method which returns the paragraph style of a piece of text. How do you do it?
