altivec matrix functions

I am interested in using the linear algebra functions described in the various vecLib.h sub-files. Aside from the vector stuff in vDSP.h, all of the rest of the function prototypes (spec. the matrix stuff) are wrapped in "#ifdef __VEC__" directives. "__VEC__" is nowhere defined in the framework. Does this mean that those functions are not yet implemented?
