I would guess that you could probably resolve it with FSResolveAlias. Look in the Carbon docs under Alias Manager to learn how to use it.

Hi,

I am trying to figure out what the key called ImageFileAlias in the com.apple.desktop.plist file is for. It's of type NSData and I suspect it has some kind of reference to the current desktop picture. Unfortunately I don't have a clue about how I should decode this data so I can get the current desktop picture through it :(

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks,
