IsWindowLatentVisible for cocoa

Is there some counterpart to IsWindowLatentVisible for cocoa windows, specifically a way to tell if the only reason that a window is hidden is because the process is hidden?

If not, is there a way to tell if calling [aWindow windowRef] will create the carbon window or if it already exists?
