IB Bug (was Re: Inteface Builder and Greek support)

Ok, I just re-checked what David's email suggests doing: using the Inspector. Strangely enough it now works. I have to say that yesterday it didn't. David's email, is generally correct, although misleading, since Greek could always be typed in a control, but NOT accented Greek. Greek in OS X is non-ascii, of course.

I have found that in some occassions, I am not sure what triggers it, IB 'acquires' many bugs!. For example, yesterday after a few hours of work on it, I couldn't type the Greek accents neither in the control, nor in the Inspector. Today, (and of course after restarting the program) I could type the accents in the Inspector, but not the Control itself. It seems to be that, David was pretty close when he said 'non-ascii' characters. What I think happens, is that, the Dead-keys for Greek do not work, making it impossible to enter any accented characters in the controls.

Moreover, other bugs which 'seem' to be triggered by specific actions, include for example when defining a drawer, it is common for IB (for unknown to me reasons) to not properly link the size of the drawer to the orientation, therefore making it impossible to configure it properly. This requires restarting IB to be resolved. I will try gathering more bugs as I use IB and will post in the future.

Sorry if you had them mentioned again.

An example is the following:

Let's suppose you add a drawer to an already existing window. You place the drawer on the right. At some point you wish to move it to the bottom, for some obscure reason. IB, has, in some cases, kept the height(!) fixed (as it would for the side_positioning) where the width was variable. This was fixed when I restarted IB.

Anyway,

thanks to everyone for replying. For the time being I can use the Inspector (and restart IB when required).

An Interface Builder bug prevents non-ASCII from being entered directly into the controls by double clicking. However, I do believe that you can edit the text in the Inspector.

I just tried on my copy of Interface Builder and was able to type Japanese text in a button??
What problem are you talking about specifically???
