Ok, this is a complete newbie question but I just need a

A quick tip - this is a Cocoa list. There's a email@hidden list that's more appropriate for more generalized Perl discussion.

they aren't being installed into /System/Library/Perl

Nor should they be. CPAN modules are installed into /Library/Perl

This is one reason, by the way, that you should *not* take Apple's misguided advice about installing Perl 5.8.0 into /Library/Perl, should you choose to upgrade. That advice is only appropriate if you've never installed any CPAN modules under the default 5.6.0 - if you have, then they'll be in /Library/Perl, and installing 5.8.0 into the same folder will result in a crash-prone mess.

Apple, are you listening? This issue, as well as the recent installer bug (EQ vs. eq), serve to illustrate that you need an in-house "Perl guy." I'm available for the job, and East Coast weather really, really sucks right now - I'd *love* to move out west. :-)
