A Way to modify ( write ) System files?

Hi,

I'm trying to code an app that would write to ( modify ) Files in CoreServices ( e.g.:/System/Library/CoreServices/Something.ext) and want to know the easiest way to do it.

I'd like my app to authenticate itself and gain root access ( by bringing that "user auth" panel, perhaps? ).

I've taken a look at AuthSample and the Security Framework, but I believe there's an easy way to do it, considering many cocoa apps do it.

Thanks in advance,
-- Jean-Olivier
