To the gent who was asking for a cocoa book. I'll probably get flamed
for saying this, but:
Pay a visit to your local public library. Find the cocoa books, look
through them and see which you like best and pick that one up. For me,
it was Hilegass, but I've learned considerably more by writing my own
application to balance my checkbook than the hundreds of pages one can
read on this stuff. If your local library doesn't have the books you
want to look at, a place like Borders or a Barnes and Noble with a cafe
make great spots to leaf through books (and while not entirely
encouraged, I've never seen anyone be asked to leave the store).
Like I said above, pick something that you can't live without and
write it yourself. That's the best way to learn. Write an application
to manage your grocery list or add bluetooth synchronization to a text
editor. There are plenty of unsolved problems, people just aren't
thinking hard enough.
