Dirty dot in close button

Sometimes I am embarrassed at my naive questions. Sigh. Anyway,

My application has both NSDocument windows and non-document windows. My NSDocument windows display a black dot in the close button when the document is "dirty". Is there a way I can enable that feature on my subclass of a NSWindowController window?
